Governor Doug Ducey visited Encanto Elementary School in Phoenix to launch Read Across America Day on Wednesday, March 2, 2016.  At Encanto Elementary, Governor Ducey participated in a school wide assembly, where he presented several student awards, read excerpts from "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" by Dr. Seuss, and presented Encanto Elementary School with book donations generously made by Scholastic Book Company.

After his visit to Encanto Elementary, the Governor joined the Arizona Cardinals at the Salvation Army Kroc Center for Read Across America Day. As part of the celebration, Governor Ducey joined Arizona Cardinals players Justin Bethel and Drew Stanton in reading to over 250 students.

Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of children's author Dr. Seuss.
