November 17, 2016--In celebration of Arizona Educational Foundation's 2017 Teacher of the Year Awards Luncheon, Governor Ducey congratulates the top 10 educators honored at this year's lunch. He thanks Arizona teachers for their dedication and hard work towards shaping a bright future for Arizona students.
EVIT Foundation Gourmet Breakfast & Fundraiser
November 16, 2016--In celebration of the East Valley Institute of Technology’s (EVIT's) Education Foundation's gourmet breakfast and fundraiser Governor Ducey thanked participants for their support of EVIT's program. The funds raised at this breakfast provide scholarships for qualifying low-income students to attend the joint technological education district.
Helios Scholars at TGen 10th Anniversary
September 30, 2016--In celebration of the 10th anniversary of Helios Scholars at TGen, Governor Doug Ducey congratulated Helios Foundation and TGen on their successful partnership. Over 400 Arizona students have been trained and mentored by TGen's world class scientist to help develop the next generation of researchers and physicians.
National Volunteer Week
April 11, 2016 -- In recognition of National Volunteer Week, Governor Doug Ducey, in partnership with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Central Arizona (BBBS) and Phoenix Mayor Stanton’s Office, released a public service announcement encouraging Arizonans to actively seek out mentorship and volunteer opportunities. During National Volunteer Week, April 10-16, 2016, Americans are encouraged to seek out imaginative ways to engage their communities and make a difference and to recognize those who give back. June 19, 2015 -- Governor Doug Ducey and First Lady Angela Ducey showed their support for “Summer Learning Day” and Read On Arizona by releasing a summer reading video encouraging Arizona students to spend time every day reading and learning throughout the summer months. The initiative, a partnership with Read on Arizona and other organizations dedicated to the cause of childhood literacy, encourages all Arizona children and families to visit their local public libraries and sign up for Arizona’s Summer Reading Program.
